In the Beckman Avanti J, the state of the door is determined by a pair of sensors on each Door and Latch Board (Beckman PN.362963). The state of the latching pin and the state of the door striker are determined by these sensors. When the door is closed, a yellow LED for each latch is blinking, and a green LED for each door striker is lit. The door striker detector output is turned OFF and ON to eliminate the effect of high ambient light causing the door striker detector sensor to turn on with the door open.
