A dirty or stuck Diaphragm Assembly (ASSY.DIAPHRAGM, PN. 606646) in the LS6500 can cause it to stop working and show an "Elevator Time Out Error."

To fix this, you can usually replace the Diaphragm Assembly.

But before you do that, check a few things:

  1. Make sure the racks inside the machine are placed correctly.

  2. Check if the Detector Cap Assembly (part number 594741) is working properly.

  3. See if the telescope part of the machine can move up and down smoothly.

If these checks don’t fix the problem, then replacing the Diaphragm Assembly should do the trick.
